Post-Thanksgiving
I didn't do a post for Thanksgiving, mainly cause I consider it more or less a non-holiday. It's more than a little nauseating that we celebrate genocide with gluttony, I just can't really hang with those ideals. Which is not to say I don't like the wide variety of side dishes, being a vegetarian and all, that's pretty much all that is on my plate. And I'm not so callous that I'm not thankful for a few things, I just don't really see the point in being thankful for them one day out of the year while you pretend that you don't really want to stick your fork in the eye of whatever relative is sitting next to you. I spent my Thanksgiving at my dealer's house which is about as Norman Rockwell as I'm ever going to get. So here's a short list of what I'm thankful for.
I'm thankful that in absence of a biological family (parents, siblings, etc.), I've got one smoking family family-my daughter, Molliwogg, and the oddest collection of friends and acquaintances this side of Hunter S. Thompson's house. I'm thankful we're less than a year away from election season. I'm thankful there are idiot corporations out there who have no understanding of chess (rook to queen five Freightliner). Most of all I'm thankful for every bruise, scar, shit sandwich and ass kicking I've ever taken be it physical, mental, or even delusional. The past is the sum of all parts, I'm looking forward to putting some new adventures behind me. That's just a short list of the many things I am thankful for, I could ramble on for a lot longer but that would be tedious. Besides I was listening to a song today that sums it all up in a nutshell anyway. Take it away Berger.
