- SAN ANTONIO - Levi Strauss & Co., the California Gold Rush outfitter whose blue jeans are a globally recognized symbol of America, closed its last two U.S. sewing plants Thursday.- "We tried to do our best to maintain manufacturing in the United States, but we have to be competitive to survive as a company," he said. - Yahoo
Sorry, but I call bullshit. If you want to claim to be an American company, then you should, you know, hire Americans. There are still people out there who believe in American companies....a sucker every last one of them. Between 40%-100% of that new American car you just bought was made somewhere else. Your candy bars are being made in Mexico. And now your Levi's are Chinese. Supporting an "American" company no longer means supporting Americans. The only American you're supporting is some fat cat sitting in ivory towers while the American workforce is left to eat cake.
