Harry Bob Frank David
In my job I frequently need to communicate a string of numbers such as HBFD0003A238T with someone. I noticed quite some time ago that when doing this, instead of using the military type of letter identifiers like Hotel, Bravo, Foxtrot, and Delta I will rattle off a string of male first names. Not women's names, just men's. Harry, Bob, Frank, David, 0003, Adam, 238, Tom. I though this was my own little peculiarity and I thought it was a little weird. Lately though I have noticed that a lot of people do this. What in the hell is that about?
Note to self, use women's names. See if this confuses people.
